Jonathan Leffler

Jonathan Leffler

Senior Technical Staff Member for IBM Information Management Software

Jonathan Leffler started working with Informix products in 1986 with the 2.00 release of ISQL and 1.00 release of I4GL. He joined the UK office of Informix in 1990, and moved to California in 1993. He led the I4GL maintenance team and helped select and introduce D4GL, but has been involved in the design and development of IDS for the last eight years. Jonathan has been active in the Informix International User Group since its inception, and regularly contributes to the main Informix news group, comp.databases.informix. He is the author of the book 'Using Informix-SQL', the program SQLCMD, and the Perl DBD::Informix module (and has helped with Informix support in other open source products too). Jonathan is now a Senior Technical Staff Member for IBM Information Management Software and the security architect for IDS in Informix Database Engineering, which means he has some say about which new features are added to IDS and spends a lot of time working on the security of IDS. He frequently makes presentations at IBM and Informix conferences, to Informix user groups and in Chat With The Lab sessions.
